Cairngorms Mountain Skills

Master navigation and mountain judgment in the UK’s most demanding highland environment. Training delivered by qualified MLs and AMI professionals.

Meet in Aviemore Direct Rail Links MT Accredited

Why Train in the Cairngorms?

The Cairngorms provide a world-class training environment for those looking to move beyond basic hill walking into true mountain independence. It is the premier location in the UK for mastering micro-navigation, pacing, and timing in a genuine sub-arctic environment.

Strategic Access

We meet on Day 1 in Aviemore. By utilising high-altitude access roads, we reach the plateau quickly, ensuring more time is spent learning in remote terrain rather than on long approaches.

Unique Environment

Training here exposes you to a unique sub-arctic climate and ecology, providing vital experience in mountain weather reading and sound decision-making in vast, trackless terrain.
