Lake District Mountain Skills
Build a rock-solid foundation in map reading and steep ground movement in the heart of the Lakeland fells. Led by experienced MLs and AMI professionals.
Why Train in the Lake District?
The Lake District offers the most concentrated area of varied mountain terrain in England. From complex contour features to rocky ridges, it is the ideal classroom for mastering contour interpretation, steep ground safety, and micro-navigation.
We meet on Day 1 in Keswick. Located at the foot of Skiddaw and near the high fells of Borrowdale, this base allows us to access prime training ground within minutes of starting the day.
Training here provides experience across diverse landscapes — from open moorland to rocky summits — ensuring your navigation skills are tested against a wide range of topographic features.
